Monday, April 30, 2012 at 01:19PM All six pieces from my senior recital were video recorded, and if you missed out on the live performance or want to hear any of them again, you can here.
Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 09:41PM Today I discovered a website made by a Tuba player, John Banther, about the "story" behind musicians. In other words, there is a lot more to be found behind the music you hear on the radio, or wherever it is you listen to music. There are plenty of interviews posted on the website, and of course the focus is on professionals (either in a symphony, chamber ensemble, or a soloist). What is amazing is the amount of similarities you hear from different musicians; when they decided they wanted to play music for a living, what it means to them, etc. Certainly check out the website, it's simply a great gateway for some inspiration, especially if you're a musician, but applies no matter what field you're in.

Apple released there newest mobile operating system yesterday, iOS 5, and with it came some snazzy new features. The update I am most pleased with is the new 'store' icon in the built in Music application. This was a feature already available in iTunes, but now you can get media, including free videos, right on your mobile device.
Speaking of free videos, just search 'percussion' and check out the Vic Firth videos underneath the Podcasts section. There are way too many free videos with unbelievable performances including PASIC performer spotlights and ensemble groups. What's more, you can download these videos to your device for free!
